INTRODUCTION

Working on the potter's wheel is one of the most demanding pottery practices and requires above all concentration. It clears the mind and strengthens physical capacity, concentration, and attention. In the first part, the trainees are taken through the spectrum of feelings and experiences of clay. Basic exercises are often done with eyes closed. Feelings and internalized experiences are only led into the potter's grips and then into centering. Once you master this, it becomes easy. Our courses are divided into three basic levels and a fourth level, pottery - special techniques.

Level 1 The Art of Working on the Potter's Wheel "LEVEL 1" course is an introductory course in pottery. It is intended for beginners, i.e. for everyone who is flirting with shaping clay with the help of a potter's spindle. The course lasts 20 hours - it is conducted in two ways: CLASSIC COURSE - three visits: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday - in Velenje and INTENSIVE COURSE - two consecutive days, usually Saturday and Sunday - in Kanje Dol, Primorska content: basics about clay, where you gain knowledge and understanding of which clay is suitable for working on the potter's wheel, how to recognize it, and how to prepare it for work on the potter's wheel getting to know the equipment and tools, how the potter's wheel works, how to use it and adapt it to the body's constitution, height, and posture. exercises for feeling and strengthening concentration - getting to know yourself, the material, and the spindle. The aim of the course is to make a cylinder. At the end, we do a test. From half a kilogram of clay, each student makes a cylinder between 10 and 14 cm high and 9 cm in diameter, and a 14 cm diameter cylinder up to 4 cm high. The goal will be reached when the bottom of the pan and the rind are the same thickness. Most trainees achieve their goals. Level 1

Level 2 The Art of Working on the Potter's Spindle "LEVEL 2" course is an advanced pottery course. It is intended for everyone who has completed the first level or has acquired enough knowledge and experience to make a cylinder on their own. In the first part of the course, you upgrade the basic form with open and closed form and then combine form and exercise. Level 2 is not for learning centering! The course lasts 20 hours - it is conducted in two ways: CLASSIC COURSE - three visits: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday - in Velenje and INTENSIVE COURSE - two consecutive days, usually Saturday and Sunday - in Kanje Dol, Primorska

content: technology circle, knowing the steps and purpose of planning basic grips for making an open shape on the spindle basic grips for making a closed shape on the spindle making a special attachment combined form and basic decorative techniques (wave, dots, and stripes) evaluation, manual review, impressions, and comprehension check

The aim of the course is to create a combined form. Students make pottery independently using all three forms. (cylinder, open and closed form). We teach you how to combine grips with each other and, most importantly, we teach you how to plan a product. The goal will be achieved when the bottom of the pan and the rind are the same thickness, and the product will have exactly the shape you planned. Some trainees already achieve this during the workshop, so they continue to make covers. At the end of the workshop, we also make handles and decor.

Level 3 The Art of Working on the Potter's Wheel "LEVEL 3" course is only the first pottery course. A prerequisite for inclusion is sufficient prior knowledge to follow. At level 3, the tutor does NOT deal with instructions on how to center or make a combo shape. The course is aimed at upgrading this knowledge. On the course, you will make containers with a lid, and assemble various combined shapes (teapot) and modified shapes (majolica). If you have completed the second level or have gained enough knowledge and experience to make a combined form yourself, welcome. The course lasts 20 hours - it is conducted in two ways: CLASSIC COURSE - three visits: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday - in Velenje and INTENSIVE COURSE - two consecutive days, usually Saturday and Sunday - in Kanje Dol, Primorska content: pottery idea, design, and terminology techniques and tricks for making products (pot, bowl...) modified forms (spout...) composite combined forms (teapot, perfumery...) evaluation, manual review, impressions, and comprehension check

The goal of the course is independent planning and production of pottery products. At the end of the course, the students take home a collection of pottery products that they use with pride. Pottery at level 3 is an experience of working on a potter's wheel as an art and the practice of one of the more demanding craft skills.

Level 4 The art of working on the potter's spindle "LEVEL 4" is a series of courses in which we discuss special techniques. The courses are intended for makers who encounter problems in their work, for example how to exceed the achieved rotation height, how to plan a special attachment, drying techniques, turning, etc. The courses are announced according to demand, so if you are interested, we invite you to contact us personally, via e-mail, phone or visit us at one of the locations where we work.
